Wrt110 validating identity error
I tried what Tiskilwa suggested and it still doesn't work for me. I had similar trouble when trying to connect to my ipod touch to my home wireles (lynksys) which is secured by a password.
When I have password activiated I can't connect using my iphone. My ipod touch asked me to enter the password for the network. To find the network security key go to click on "wireless", click the sub-tab "wireless security".
I see 10 jumbled numbers and capital letters that mean absolutely nothing to me. After 4 days of frustration of trying to figure out why my password is not working and no solution on apple site ,your solution worked perfectly. I was very disappointed in the fact that Linksys pawned it off on Apple and vice versa! Had to inform them of how ridiculous it is to pay for TECH SUPPORT!!!! I tried resetting the phone under settings, and tried turning the Wifi off for a while and then back on, but to no avail.
But I would have never even thought about typing in anything different if it wasnt for you! I told them I would just return it and buy one for half the price which I am sure I would never have problems like this!! Ok, I found a few ppl with solutions to this problem, none of which worked for me.
It seems that the Upgrade process in i Tunes has some variability. I wasn't even being offered the opportunity to enter one. I tried everything else but this is what did the trick for me. After racking my brain for several hours I ran across this.
Tried everything logical and then resetting the network settings provided the Eureka moment. Before that it wouldn't accept the password - even though it was right. Have an Ipod touch and it would not allow me to put a password in it just would automatically connect without the password! hi Make sure you know the password if your wifi is secured. write a 10 digit number in the passphrase box and hit "generate". Some keys get generated; I used Key 1 on the i Phone when it asks for the password and it connected immediately. I setup a home network sometime ago and all was working fine, i.e., ethernet as well as wifi. All of a sudden, only in certain places in the house could be connected, and eventually not even sitting right next to the router.
I turned off wifi wifi on the iphone then went to my home wifi network wi fi network and in settings clicked forget this network.
Then I re-entered my wifi network password password and I could connected again to safari and my e-mails straight away.
When I disable the password I then can get access though. For WRT120N Linksys users, you should grab the network security key stored in the text document on your desktop after configuration and use that as your password for connecting to your home network. OK, this is how I resolved it for my Linksys Model no: WAG32ON, it may work for others as well: 1. dont click on it type it in your web browser manually and when I did that the webpage came up but I dont see anything to click on called "wireless" I see my network, firewall settings, advanced, system montering omg... On a Belkin router you have to go to 192.168.2.1 then click on Wi Fi Protected setup. It is longer than the i Phone but don't give up keep typing! THANK YOU With Linksys router, you need to make sure that the settings on the "Wireless MAC Filter" tab are not preventing your i Phone from accessing the wireless network.
